Tom Bachhuber, President, Center for Life TransitionsPresident of the Board and Executive Director for The Center for Life Transitions. Tom is responsible for overall Center leadership and strategy. His individual coaching/counseling as well as workshops and retreats focus on integrating leading career development ideas with spiritual exploration.

Tom was Director of the Career Development Center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2003-2011 and is presently Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Educational Psychology.  While Director, he also founded the UWM Career Transitions Center, a career center for adults in Milwaukee.

His work with both universities and corporations has been extensive, providing training, research and recruitment strategies to top companies like Pfizer, Kraft Foods, Merck & Company, Pepsi Cola, McKesson Supply, Sara Lee, Phillips Electronics, Schering-Plough, Deloitte & Touche and Nabisco. He has served as Managing Director and Senior Vice President for National Corporate College Consultants and Management Alliance Group, starting the University Resources practices at each firm. His background in publishing at Ziff-Davis in NYC includes working relationships with over 100 major university career centers throughout the country.

Tom was the tenured Director of the Career Development Center at the University of Maryland and Assistant Dean/Director at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dr. Bachhuber’s publications include five books–Directions: a Guide to Career Planning (Houghton-Mifflin), A Parents Guide to Helping their Children with Educational and Career Decisions (Abbey Press) and The Best Graduate Business Schools (Macmillan/Simon Schuster).

Tom was an elder at North Branch Reformed Church in North Branch, New Jersey, designing and leading adult education and prayer initiatives. He also led workshops and initiated the Ministries Opportunities Days at New Brunswick Theological Seminary. He was a student and member of the Board at KAIROS: School of Spiritual Formation at the Jesuit Retreat Center in Wernersville, Pennsylvania.

Tom’s Doctorate and Masters in Counseling are from the University of Virginia.
