“I am always doing that which I cannot do,
in order that I may learn how to do it.”
– Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso, author of the above quote, was revered by many but also confused many, and even angered some, through his choices of expression. His message, however, is applicable for each of us, for all must be bold enough to try that which has not been tried before, in order to discover if the path we are on is the right one for us.
Each person might imagine their life as a painting, with each color choice and brush stroke effecting the whole and making a difference in the quality of the finished piece. Most importantly it is each person’s internal critic who matters most and must be pleased with the final unveiling.
Are we pleased with the choices we’ve made thus far? If not, Picasso’s advice would be to keep at it, for it is never too late to try something new, even if we are not quite sure what we are doing. If one is not pleased with how the images are turning out, try a new perspective, but above all – keep on painting!
