Respite Reflections’ purpose is to help people push the “pause” button in their transition work — to take a break from the thinking, researching, networking and preparing for interviews. Taking a moment to center yourself, ponder a positive thought, and focus on a broader perspective is invaluable during a time of transition.

Respite: A short interval of rest or relief

“Times of stress and difficulty are seasons of opportunity
when the seeds of progress are sown.”
– Thomas F. Woodlock

The above words can come in handy when quoting them to “other” people, but when one is personally experiencing stress and difficulty, heartache and hardship, then the above quote makes no sense at all because one is barely capable of understanding words like progress or opportunity.

Like being buried underground, feeling the pressures of life piled on top of us, one might wonder – as a tender tulip bulb might – if the sun will ever shine again. In response, nature answers back, “Yes, hang on, have hope, I promise you the sun will shine – and you will bloom – again.”
