Respite Reflections’ purpose is to help people push the “pause” button in their transition work — to take a break from the thinking, researching, networking and preparing for interviews.
Taking a moment to center yourself, ponder a positive thought, and focus on a broader perspective is invaluable during a time of transition.
The planet does not need more successful people.
The planet desperately needs more peacemakers,
healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds.
– Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet
Everyone wishes to be successful.
The difficulty arises when our definition of success becomes too narrow. When our quest to succeed professionally overshadows all else, we might forget to be successful in our conversations with loved ones, or have a successful attitude while driving, or be successful in interactions with grocery clerks.
What a different world it would be if everyone were successful at making peace, or successful in healing relationships, or successful showing love even when tired and stressed.
That, indeed, would be a true success story.
