Respite Reflections’ purpose is to help people push the “pause” button in their transition work — to take a break from the thinking, researching, networking and preparing for interviews.
Taking a moment to center yourself, ponder a positive thought, and focus on a broader perspective is invaluable during a time of transition.

Respite: A short interval of rest or relief

Many things go missing from our lives...

“Today I am grateful for all those things that go missing because their absence reminds me of how blessed I am to have had them at all.”
– Kate Nowak

Many things go missing from our lives – beloved heirlooms, devoted pets and precious loved ones. Grieving for these losses can seem like a full time job that never ends. I am often struck by the obituary notices which cross my desk, listing accomplishments attained and hobbies loved. But, more importantly, it is interpersonal relationships that are mentioned as the accomplishment most appreciated. One of the things we never want to “go missing” from our lives is the practice of showing appreciation in the here and now.
