Respite Reflections’ purpose is to help people push the “pause” button in their transition work — to take a break from the thinking, researching, networking and preparing for interviews. Taking a moment to center yourself, ponder a positive thought, and focus on a broader perspective is invaluable during a time of transition.

Respite: A short interval of rest or relief

“Do something wonderful,
People may imitate it”

– Albert Schweitzer

Frustration and fear of failure can cause people to give up on themselves and feel there is no hope. But hope is always available and, as crazy as it may sound, hope is often found doing something wonderful for someone else.

“Something wonderful” can be as simple as allowing a driver to pull in front of you in traffic or letting a fellow shopper go ahead of you in line. And even if your kindness is not acknowledged at the time, the person will be much more inclined to do the same for another, remembering that once upon a time, it was done for them. It’s contagious. Be courageous. Do something wonderful!
