Who Is Life-Shift For?
What Will I Experience?
Life is about facing and managing change-career, personal, family, spiritual. This combination retreat and workshop is an opportunity to reflect on your life and your faith, exploring avenues for new opportunities. You will engage practical career transition content, poetry, and prayer which will allow you to begin clarifying vocational needs and goals.
We all need a vision for our gifts-and language to describe our career/life objectives to ourselves and others. Life-Shift will include a variety of activities including discussion, personal writing, film, music, reflective solitude, using the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius and one to one consultation. Each participant will set goals, develop resources for change while experiencing imaginative ways to know God's presence on the journey.

The Life-Shift retreat is essential for adults struggling with career transition. Perhaps you feel like you're in a dead-end job with no opportunity for advancement and long for career change. Or maybe you've put off pursuing your passion in order to deal with family and financial obligations.

This is an opportunity to explore what's holding you back from achieving your goals and find the professional, personal and spiritual balance you may be seeking.
Tom Bachhuber is Director of the Career Development Center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he also started the UWM Career Transitions Center for adults facing career change and job loss. Dr. Bachhuber is President of the Board of Directors for The Center for Life Transitions, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people in transition. His work with both universities and corporations has been extensive, providing training, research and recruitment strategies to Fortune 500 companies and consultation to over 100 major university career centers throughout the country.
Tom was an active participant in the KAIROS: School of Spiritual Formation at the Jesuit Center in Wernersville, PA for three years and also served on its Board of Directors. Tom was an Elder and adult education leader at North Branch Reformed Church in Bridgewater, New Jersey before moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
